The man known as Doctor Genzai actually has two identities. In the anime, Genzai is his name, but in the manga, people refer to him as Doctor Oguni. Doctor Genzai is the Kamiya family's doctor and has been ever since Kaoru was a little girl. He even took care of Kaoru when her father had died. Usually seen with Genzai are two of his granddaughters, Ayame and Suzume. However, Doctor Oguni is slightly different from what animation portrays him as. He is simply a doctor, and that's about it. Oguni has no known relatives, unlike how Genzai has a sister, and did not watch over Kaoru as she grew up. Yet, whether Genzai or Oguni be his name, the doctor ended up accepting Megumi as one of his assistants after she had gotten out of her situation with Kanryu.
