Nobuhiro Watsuki
Nobuhiro Watsuki was born on May 26, 1970 in Tokyo, Japan. He was influenced by his older brother and other artists as Osamu Tezuka and Fujiko Fujio into becoming a manga artist. He went to school at Nagoka High School where he won the Pop Step Award for his creation "Podmark" while Sueisha was searching for new talent. For a time, Nobuhiro Watsuki was an assistant to Takeshi Obata and participated in the production of "Arabian Lamp Lamp" and "Chikara Mito Denzetsu". In 1994, he included a 31 page excerpt in Sueisha for what seems to be a prelude to Rurouni Kenshin. This marked the beginning of Rurouni Kenshin, the anime we've all come to love.
Some of Nobuhiro Watsuki's hobbies are playing video games (Vampire Hunter and Samurai Showdown) and watching animes like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kodomo no Omocha and his own, Rurouni Kenshin. He loves the ANZI's music. He also likes reading American comics like "Spiderman" and "X-Men" and many manga. He likes action movies, as Die Hard, Midnight Runner and Back to the Future.
The japanese readers look at Watsuki as a historical mangaka and in the future he would like to write something about Shinsengumi. Other than Rurouni Kenshin, he also worked on "Gun Blaze West" which has recently ended. He has a new manga coming out and it has to do something with alchemy. So expect it sometime late this year or early next year.
